242：小刚纪录短片展映：关于“能见度”的影像实践
本期沙龙，导演、制片人小刚将带来横跨十五年的三部纪录短片作品。这三部影片虽拍摄于不同时期，但共同围绕一个持续的核心议题展开：酷儿能见度（visibility），以及这种能见度在中国社会语境中如何被创造、协商，并在当下面临越来越多的挑战。
本次放映包括小刚执导的 《同志们辛苦了》（2010）、《PK皇后》（2019），以及他担任制片的纪录短片 《野红梅》（2025）。三部影片从集体行动、文化表演到个体经验，记录了中国同志社群在不同阶段如何被看见、如何争取被看见，以及在公共空间不断收缩的背景下，这种“被看见”如何变得更加脆弱却依然重要。
本次放映以“能见度”为线索，将三部纪录短片放置在同一时间轴上，邀请观众一同思考：在不同历史阶段，被看见意味着什么？当下中国同志社群所面临的能见度挑战，又如何影响纪录影像的形式与策略？
放映结束后，小刚将参与现场交流，分享他在不同阶段进行纪录创作与制片的经验，以及在公共空间不断变化的条件下，影像如何继续作为一种见证、连接与抵抗遗忘的方式存在。
这不仅是一场关于中国酷儿纪录影像的回顾，也是一场关于当“可见变得更难，影像还能做什么”的当下对话。
Title: Xiao Gang Documentary Short Film Screening: Cinematic Practices on "Visibility"
In this event, we will screen three documentary shorts by director and producer Xiao Gang, spanning fifteen years of work. Although filmed during different periods, these three films converge on a persistent core theme: queer visibility—how this visibility is created and negotiated within the Chinese social context, and the increasing challenges it faces today.
The screening features Comrades, You’ve Worked Hard (2010) and PK Queen (2019), directed by Xiao Gang, as well as the documentary short Wild Red Plum (2025), which he produced. Moving from collective action and cultural performance to individual lived experience, these three films document how the Chinese queer community has been perceived and fought to be seen across different stages, and how, against the backdrop of shrinking public space, this "being seen" has become increasingly fragile yet remains vital.
Using "visibility" as a thread, this screening places the three shorts on a single timeline, inviting the audience to reflect: What has "being seen" meant at different historical junctures? How do the current visibility challenges facing the Chinese queer community influence the forms and strategies of documentary filmmaking?
Following the screening, Xiao Gang will join us for a live discussion to share his experiences in documentary directing and producing across various stages. We will explore how, under the conditions of ever-changing public space, the moving image continues to serve as a means of witnessing, connecting, and resisting erasure.
This event is not merely a retrospective of Chinese queer documentary cinema; it is a timely conversation on the question: "When visibility becomes increasingly difficult, what more can the image do?"

每天下午三点，Jessica 开始化妆，为晚上七点半的表演做准备。他的舞台不在酒吧，也不在剧场，而是在家中，面对一部手机。Jessica 是一名线上职业变装表演者（Drag Queen）。 尽管他享受作为变装表演者的身份，但这份工作并不轻松。除了不断证明自己的才华与专业能力，他还需要直面偏见与歧视。在中国，变装演出的空间日益受限，但他始终在寻找机会，希望有一天能够站在真实的现场舞台前，为观众表演。
China PK Queen
Every day at 3pm Jessica starts his make-up to be ready for his performance at 7:30. He does not perform in a bar or in a theater but at home facing his mobile phone. He is an online professional Drag Queen. Each day of the week he gets online to perform and to receive “gifts” from his fans. Although he enjoys being a Drag Queen, he not only has to prove his talents and skills but also to fight against prejudices and discrimination. Even if the space for drag shows in China is constrained, he is always looking for opportunities to perform in front of live audiences.
《野红梅》（2025）14mins
红莓是一个喜欢舞鞭、爱唱经典民歌的00后跨性别女性。她认为自己很像古代的女巫，因为自己的“身份”放弃主流生活在街头摆摊占卜。但同时也因为“身份”，她获得了一些不一样的，更为重要的东西。

嘉宾：小刚
小刚出生并成长于中国新疆，现居法国。自 1998 年起，他长期从事影像创作与社会行动相关工作，是中国 LGBT+领域的重要行动者之一。
2007 年，他创立了中国最早的 LGBT+网络视频节目之一《同志亦凡人》（Queer Comrades）。在十余年间，他策划、导演并主持了 400 余期节目，累计获得 超过 5000 万次观看，对中国数字公共空间中性少数群体的能见度产生了深远影响。
此后，他在 2019 年之前担任北京纪安德（Beijing Gender）执行主任。该机构是中国首批专注于性／别议题与性健康的公益组织之一。在此期间，他推动并参与发起了多项具有里程碑意义的项目与公共活动，包括 酷儿大学（Queer University）、爱滋徒步（China AIDS Walk）、中国彩虹媒体奖（China Rainbow Awards）、中国 LGBT论坛（China LGBTI Conference） 以及 性别友好厕所项目（All Gender Toilet Program） 等。
目前，他是北京酷儿影展（Beijing Queer Film Festival）组委会成员，同时也是China Rainbow Collective Foundation（CRCF）创始人。该基金会致力于为中国的 LGBTI+ 社群发展提供支持，并在国际层面搭建持续的交流与合作网络。
他的工作在国际上获得了多项认可与肯定，包括：

Xiaogang WEI Short Bio
Xiaogang Wei was born and raised in Xinjiang, China, and is now based in France. He has been engaged in media production and social movement work in China since 1998.
In 2007, he founded the pioneering LGBTQ webcast Queer Comrades, through which he directed and hosted more than 400 videos, reaching over 50 million views and playing a formative role in shaping queer visibility in China’s digital public sphere. Until 2019, he served as Executive Director of Beijing Gender, the first Chinese NGO dedicated to gender, sexuality, and sexual health. Through this work, he helped initiate a series of landmark programmes and events, including Queer University, the China AIDS Walk, the China Rainbow Awards, the China LGBTI Conference, and the All Gender Toilet Program.
Today, he is a member of the organizing committee of the Beijing Queer Film Festival and the founder and president of the China Rainbow Collective Foundation (CRCF), which mobilizes resources for the Chinese LGBTI+ movement and builds international connections. His work has been internationally recognized, including the Vanguard Award from the LA LGBT Center (2013), the Human Rights Prize of the French Republic (2018), and inclusion in the book 50 LGBTQI+ Who Changed the World (2023).
